Cardinal Sean O'Malley is holding a healing Mass for abuse survivors, Sunday December 20th, 2009 at 3:30 pm at the Bethany Chapel, 66 Brooks Drive, Braintree, MA.

All in attendance will receive this Advent Booklet, showing one of the the actual reasons for the Mass in the first place.

I once was in the position of the Magnificent Advent Companion too. They saw great potential in me at a very early age. I was heavily recruited for the position.

It didn't last though. Once I reached the age of consent, I was retired.

Survivor: Cardnial Sean, do you know how to heal survivors?
Cardinal Sean: I don't know, can you hum a few bars?

Really??? No, really??? The scary thing is that a lot of people will think this is beautiful...of course this makes me wonder: who is the patron saint of what's depicted here.

Green Thoughts, you removed your posting above mine which makes my comment somewhat incongruent in the thread. First, this is part of one of Rembrandt's most famous paintings, known as the The Return of the Prodigal Son. That is what is being depicted here, not The Suck Off of Fr. Pedophile. It is a beautiful painting, but the entire scene is not shown here--just the two main figures. If you know the story the Prodigal Son, you will understand that the intention must have been to suggest reconciliation. However, taken out of context and put into this one of abuse by pedophile priests, it is obviously suggestive of oral sex. It was a really bad choice, but it will probably be defended for the very reason I have stated. I think whoever selected this cover must be truly clueless or just figure that everybody is familiar with Rembrandt's religious art and the symbolism. ps: I am a friend of Skip's-- not of the Roman Catholic Church.
